Cybersecurity in a virtual world is dramatically different from defending systems and information within defined perimeters. With the growth of enterprise networks as governments move more data to the cloud and large numbers of personnel work remotely, traditional "perimeter-based" cybersecurity defenses are no longer adequate.
This article from the Journal of Government Financial Management, reproduced with permission from the Association of Government Accountants (AGA), describes how leading government organizations are adopting "perimeter-less" cybersecurity frameworks using a zero trust architecture (ZTA), as well as actions for adopting ZTA.
