QPP 2018 Final Rule

Extended flexibility on the path to value-based payments

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services published a final rule with comment period on policies and requirements for physicians and other clinicians participating in the second year of the Quality Payment Program effective January 2018. 

As we have previously highlighted, the QPP was established as part of the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) as a way to transition Medicare physician reimbursement to a system that rewards high-value, low-cost care through two tracks.
