Mike Lueck, a principal in KPMG’s Business Tax Services group, is KPMG’s Automotive Tax Lead and the Local Office Tax Leader in KPMG’s Detroit office where he is responsible for KPMG’s tax practice serving the Michigan market. Mike is also a partner in KPMG’s Accounting Methods and Credit Services (“AMCS”) Practice. KPMG’s AMCS practice focuses on credits and incentives, income taxation of inventories, including LIFO and 263A, and other timing items, including revenue and expense recognition.
Mike joined KPMG in 2005 from the IRS Chief Counsel’s Office where he was national lead counsel for section 263A and associate lead counsel for inventory. Mike has also been on the adjunct faculty at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law where he taught basic federal tax, corporate and partnership taxation.
Mike assists clients on a variety of projects, including credits, tax accounting methods, inventory tax accounting, compliance, and support with tax controversies. Mike primarily focuses on the automotive industry.
